The International Day of Friendship is a United Nations (UN) day that promotes the role that friendship plays in promoting peace in many cultures. It is observed on July 30 each year. 

What do people do?

To mark the International Day of Friendship, the UN encourages governments, organizations, and community groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that promote solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.

Public life

The International Day of Friendship is a UN observance and not a public holiday.

Background

In 2011, the UN proclaimed the International Day of Friendship with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, and cultures can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. The UN wanted for the day to involve young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity.

Education

I think about education in many ways.

Education can be a staircase.

Climbing up is tiring but once you're up there the view will be worth it.

And then I like to imagine so many things you can do once you are up there.

Instagram maybe? Take a picture, remember forever.

Fly maybe? Soar on a hang glider?

Slide down from the highest slide on earth?

Those are the rewards and only you can decide.

Education is medicine

It is not nice but the outcome will be better

Education is a KEY

if there is a key there must be a lock.

The locks are the obstacles in life.

With the right knowledge you can unlock them

Open the door

And explore what is beyond.

There could be anything out there behind the door.

Forge your own path.

Grab all the keys, the opportunities.

Meet people along the way and combine your keys to unlock more doors and go further than you have ever before

International Friendship

International Friendship is beautiful.
Friendships of any kind are beatiful.

We are not alone, though we may feel like that sometimes.
We are all humans.
We are all different.
Not bad different, good different.

Because how boring would it be if everyone were the same?

So this Friendship Day ( or anyday really)
Take a moment to appreciate the awesome people that you call your friends
Think of how they made your life better,
and KNOW that you too have given that feeling to someone else.

International friendship.
Think about it, you can share the love, what have you got to lose?
We have so much access to technology now
Make a few friends from other countries over the internet possibly
I know people say do not talk to strangers but just send people nice messages, what could go wrong?
Don't give personal information, don't send incriminating pictures,
Just say nice things, be nice to everyone on social sites.
Learn more about their culture and lifestyle, just general stuff.
And there you're all set!

Humans want friends. We always do. We are not adapted for soltitude. We are social. Sometimes children have imaginary friends, just because they want a friend.

International Friendship Day

In other parts of the world like South Anerica for example, there is a day where people celebrate 'International Friendship Day' ! On this special day, they celebrate the bonds that they share with their peers , no matter from what background, culture or even the country they are from.

 Gifts, cards, flowers and items such as wristbands are exchanged between friends from all walks of life which makes this special day even more joyful! ^.^
